COMPREHENSIVE DENTAL HYGIENE and PROFESSIONAL DENTAL CLEANING
Oral hygiene -
5 reasons for professional teeth cleaning
Why professional teeth cleaning is so important
Patients come to oral hygiene to discuss a variety of concerns: Some seek help for bleeding gums and swollen gums, while others want to take preventative measures against tooth decay and periodontitis. Often they simply want a professional dental cleaning to maintain their dental health in the long term.
Here are our patients’ top 5 wishes:
1. I want to have normal oral hygiene
Careful and perfect oral hygiene is on our hearts. We clean your teeth with pleasure, thoroughly and accurately. During the prophylaxis session, our patients can watch a film, a series or a documentary from a streaming platform or – if they like – follow the professional dental cleaning via video viewing glasses. Music or podcast lovers are invited to put on headphones to relax or distract themselves.
2. I have problems with my gums
Bleeding and swollen gums are common reasons why patients reach out to our prophylaxis specialist. Our job is to keep the gums as clean as possible by means of professional teeth cleaning and to show our patients the important role played by carrying out daily dental hygiene at home. We analyse our patients’ brushing technique with a microscope and give them the tools to improve it. As part of oral hygiene, we thoroughly remove all plaque and tartar under a microscope with up to 20x magnification.
3. I have gum and bone inflammation and am looking for a specialist for periodontitis and periodontosis
We are a specialised surgery for gum and jawbone diseases. Our aim is to heal your inflamed gums and your inflamed bone. Professional tooth cleaning and regular oral hygiene is an important part of this healing process. Depending on the severity of your illness, we also offer dental treatment in our surgery – always with the support of a microscope. Find out more about our dental spectrum here.
4. I am a patient currently at another dentist, but I would like to book an appointment for oral hygiene
Our oral hygiene assistant works independently of the dental team. Anyone can come to us for oral hygiene at any time, regardless of their dental care. If you are not undergoing dental treatment with us, we kindly ask you to bring a panoramic X-ray with you for professional teeth cleaning. If the prophylaxis assistant identifies deep gum pockets of 4 mm or more, or detects significant pus-filled areas in the bone, she will recommend you to have these treated by your dentist. Of course, you can also contact our team of dentists at any time if you have any complaints relating to your teeth, mouth and jaw. If you or your dentist are interested in co-working with us, please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
5. I would like to get rid of discolouration
Many patients come to us to get rid of aesthetic problems such as tooth discoloration and tartar. With our professional teeth cleaning, we are able to remove even stubborn residue and restore the natural tooth colour. Treatment under the microscope ensures that all discoloration is thoroughly removed, resulting in a brighter and healthier smile. We use the AIRFLOW Prophylaxis Master with integrated heating for warm water, so that nothing stands in the way of an imperceptibly warm cleaning of your tooth surfaces! We treat your teeth with “AIRFLOW PLUS Prophylaxis Powder” as a standard practice.
The erythritol-based PLUS powder can be used supra- and subgingivally and the plaque is also removed in the hard-to-reach interdental spaces. Finally, a thorough polish is applied before you go home with a healthy, radiant smile.
